How has your role at TouchBistro evolved over the years?
I am currently a Senior Marketing Specialist, Enablement. I work very closely with our sales teams to help bridge the gap between the marketing and sales department.
I started as a Sales Development Representative and later was able to leverage my experience with my role on the marketing team. I made an internal move into a Demand Generation Specialist role, followed by a promotion to a Senior Marketing Specialist. Throughout all of my career moves, my manager has always done a great job of making sure that I feel supported and empowered to be successful!
What makes TouchBistro special to you?
I would definitely say it’s the people. I feel very lucky to be a part of such an incredible team. The collaborative nature that I’ve experienced at TouchBistro has allowed for my growth and continuous learning. We have lots of fun together and people are always willing to jump in and help!
What inspires you about the future of the restaurant industry?
I came from the restaurant industry prior to working at TouchBistro. It has been great to be a part of a company that really understands what restaurateurs need, and is committed to supporting the community that it serves. I feel like it’s important that we continue to increase visibility and find value for our customers.
I was a prior user of TouchBistro, while working in the restaurant as a server. I can attest to the fact that it is truly fantastic software. It makes operating a restaurant so much easier, while empowering restaurant professionals to be able focus on what really matters: keeping customers coming back and building relationships.
How has the TouchBistro system evolved since you used it?
It has been really great to see how we have evolved from being a point of sale system into an all-in-one restaurant management solution with the additions of online ordering, reservations, loyalty, gift cards, etc.
What is one thing that you wouldn’t eat as a child that you now enjoy?
Asparagus! It used to grow wild at the house I grew up in. We ate it with so many meals and I didn’t enjoy it. Now, I will cook a bundle of asparagus just for lunch. I feel like it’s such an under-rated food.
What is the last book that you read?
I started reading a lot during the pandemic. I try to read one or two books a month. I just recently read Things We Never Got Over and Things We Hide From The Light by Lucy Score. I am very excited for the third book to come out in September!
What was the last best show that you binge-watched on TV?
I have been enjoying binge-watching Succession. The characters are so unlikeable, but the comedy style is very much my type of humor.
What would you say is your proudest accomplishment in your career to date?
At first, I was nervous about breaking through from the restaurant industry into the corporate world. I am so grateful that I found a company like TouchBistro, where I could leverage my restaurant industry experience. I love that I am able to work with a product that I truly believe in.
I am proud of my growth and advancement within the marketing team. When I transitioned from being a Sales Development Representative to the marketing team, I felt like I was brand new again and had a lot to learn. A very short year later, I gradually began taking on more work within the team and I was recognized with a promotion.
If you had to eat one type of cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would probably be Mexican just because I am always in the mood for a good taco and guacamole!
Do you have any pets? Give us an intro!
Gizmo is our Goldendoodle pup and is the center of our universe! My partner and I got him in 2020 when our trip to Asia was canceled and we needed a little bit of joy in our lives. We recently moved to a new area by the beach and we love to watch him run around near the water!
