Setting Up the Chase Paymentech iCT250

This document will guide you through setting up a Chase Paymentech PIN pad card reader and to process payments with a credit card.

Chapter 1. Setting Up a Chase Paymentech Card Reader

Section 1. Connecting the Hardware

1) Connecting the Power Supply to the Splitter

Ensure you plug the power cable into the splitter. The splitter is physically connected to the iCT250. Ensure the iCT250 fully boots up.

2) To Your Router

If you have a free LAN port on your Airport or AmpliFi router, you can connect your iCT250 in this manner:

1. Ensure you have a CAT5 Ethernet cable in the WAN port connecting to your Internet modem.

2. Run a CAT5 Ethernet cable between the iCT250’s left most Ethernet port (the other port is a phone jack) and a free LAN port on the router.

3) To a Switch

It is probably more typical your router has no more free LAN ports and you require an Ethernet switch:

1. Ensure you have a CAT5 Ethernet cable in the WAN port connecting to your Internet modem.

2. Run a CAT5 Ethernet cable between the iCT250’s left most Ethernet port (the other port is a phone jack) and any free LAN port on the switch.

3. Run a CAT5 Ethernet cable from any free LAN port on your router to any free LAN port on your switch (all ports on your switch are LAN ports).

Section 2. Setting Up the iCT250

You will need to determine your iCT250 PIN Pad’s IP Address. To do this access your iCT250 PIN Pad:

1. Ensure your PIN Pad is powered up.

2. Press the .,#* key.

3. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try P123456 or CPS2468.

4. You are now in Menu mode.

5. Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll up and down these menus.

6. Scroll down to Maintenance and press the green PIN pad button to select.

7. Scroll to Download and press the green PIN pad button to select.

8. Scroll to Configure and press the green PIN pad button to select.

9. Scroll to Full and press the green PIN pad button to select.

10. Scroll to Ethernet and press the green PIN pad button to select.

11. Scroll to Dynamic and press the green PIN pad button to select.

12. Verify the HOST IP/Name is SECURE.PAYMENTECH.COM. If not, enter it. Use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button.

13. Press the green PIN pad button to past by the Host Port screen.

14. Scroll to On and press the green PIN pad button to turn on SSL.

15. Press the green PIN pad button several times to move past the Model, Application Name, and Terminal ID screen.

16. Your PIN pad will print out your new settings.

17. Scroll to Download and press the green PIN pad button to select.

18. Your PIN pad will start to download a number of files. This will take 5-10 minutes.

19. Your PIN pad will print a confirmation the download is complete and then reboot.

20. Wait until it returns to the welcome screen.

21. Press the.,#* key.

22. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try P123456 or CPS2468.

23. Scroll down to Misc. Options and press the green PIN pad button to select.

24. Highlight Semi-Integrated and press the green PIN pad button to select.

25. Highlight Enable SemiInteg and press the green PIN pad button to select.

26. Use the left most navigation button (F1) to select On.

27. You will be returned to the Semi-Integrated screen.

28. Scroll down to Communication Type and press the green PIN pad button to select.

29. Scroll down to Ethernet and press the green PIN pad button to select.

30. Write down the IP address. The device may display a port number (e.g., 1337) or leave this blank. Regardless, enter 1433 as the new port number and press the green PIN pad button to select.

31. Press the red PIN pad button several times to return to the Welcome screen.

Section 3. Reserve Your iCT250’s IP Address

By default your router will randomly assign any available IP address to your iCT250 and will change these IP addresses from time to time. Hence, you need to set your router to always assign your iCT250 a static, never changing IP address.

1) If you’re using an Apple AirPort Extreme Router

If you’re using a Ubiquiti AmpliFi router, please skip to the next section.

1. From the Welcome screen press the .,#* key.

2. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try P123456 or CPS2468.

3. Scroll to Setup Menu and press the green PIN pad button to select.

4. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try P123456 or CPS2468.

5. Scroll to Communications and press the green PIN pad button to select.

6. Scroll to Ethernet and press the green PIN pad button to select.

7. Scroll to Current Setup and press the green PIN pad button to select.

8. Note the MAC address. Copy down it down on a piece of paper, ensure you copy the letter case correctly.

9. Press the red PIN pad button several times to return to the Welcome screen.

10. On one of your iPads, launch Airport Utility.

11. Tap on your router image. You may be prompted for a password. If so enter it and tap Edit.

12. Tap Advanced.

13. Tap DHCP and NAT.

14. Tap Reservations.

15. Tap New Reservations.

16. In the Description field, give this device a name that will help identify the hardware. For example, Chase counter.

17. Enter the MAC address you copied down in the MAC Address field.

18. In the IPv4 Address field, enter the IP address from the Port Setup screen or select your own in the form of 10.0.1.xxx. For example, you may want to have a convention that all IPs you reserve for TouchBistro devices (pinpads, KDS, CFD) get IPs between 10.0.1.70 and 10.0.1.80.

19. After adding the MAC address and deciding on an IP address to reserve, tap Done.

20. Your iCT250 now appears in the reservation list.

21. Tap Done several more times.

22. When you are prompted to update your router, tap Update.

23. It will take a few minutes to update and you may lose your Internet connection briefly.

2) If you’re using a Ubiquiti AmpliFi Router

1. From the Welcome screen press the .,#* key.

2. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try P123456 or CPS2468.

3. Scroll to Setup Menu and press the green PIN pad button to select.

4. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try P123456 or CPS2468.

5. Scroll to Communications and press the green PIN pad button to select.

6. Scroll to Ethernet and press the green PIN pad button to select.

7. Scroll to Current Setup and press the green PIN pad button to select.

8. Note the MAC address. Copy down it down on a piece of paper, ensure you copy the letter case correctly.

9. Press the red PIN pad button several times to return to the Welcome screen.

10. On your iPad, tap the AmpliFi app.

11. Tap on the picture of the AmpliFi Router in the middle of the screen.

12. Scroll down to the Advanced section, and tap DHCP Server.

13. Tap Static Leases.

14. Tap the plus sign + in the top right-hand corner to add a new reservation.

15. Complete the following three fields:

  • Name – Create a unique name for this device.
  • The MAC Address for the device.
  • The desired IP Address you wish to reserve for the device.

16. Tap the checkmark in the top right-hand corner, and press Proceed when the Attention dialog box appears.

Chapter 2. Enabling Tips

If tipping is appropriate for your venue, you can setup your PIN pad to allow customers to enter tips.

1. Press the .,#* key.

2. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try P123456 or CPS2468.

2. Scroll down to Setup Menu and press the green PIN pad button to select.

4. Scroll down to Trans Options and press the green PIN pad button to select.

5. Scroll down to Tip Options and press the green PIN pad button to select.

6. Scroll down to Tip and press the green PIN pad button to select.

7. Scroll down to Std Tip Only or Std/Auto Tip and press the green PIN pad button to select.

8. Press the red cancel button several times to return to the welcome screen. You’re now ready to accept payments.

Section 1. Configuring Chase Paymentech in TouchBistro

1. Open your restaurant on TouchBistro.

2. Log in as Admin.

3. Tap Admin | Admin Settings in the top right hand corner.

4. Tap Payment Gateways under Settings.

5. Tap Chase Paymentech to enable it as your payment gateway. Ensure there’s a checkmark in the Chase Paymentech cell row.

6. Tap Setup.

7. Tap Manage Terminals.

8. Tap the Add icon to add a terminal.

9. Enter a name to help identify the terminal. For example indicate where it’s located.

10. Enter the IP address and Port you wrote down following the steps under Retrieve the iCT250 PIN Pad’s IP Address.

11. Tap Done to return to the Payment Terminal screen.

12. Ensure there’s a checkmark associated with the PIN Pad. This indicates this iPad should use this PIN Pad by default.

13. Tap Done to return to the Chase Paymentech Settings screen.

14. Tap Done to return to the Payment Gateways screen.

Chapter 3. Managing Passwords

By default the manager password is CPS2468. You should change this as soon as you can.

1. Press the .,#* key.

2. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try CPS2468 or P123456.

3. Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll up and down these menus.

4. Scroll down to Security and press the green PIN pad button to select.

5. Enter your Manager password. If your password uses letters, use the F key on the keypad to change your numbers to letters. For example, to get the S press 7 then F until a capital S appears. Press the green PIN pad button. Chase should have given you a default password. However, if not, try CPS2468 or P123456.

6. You can use the Security menu to setup and manage passwords.
