You can use any iPad on your TouchBistro system to backup and restore restaurant data.

Back Up your Restaurant Data to Your iPad

You can use any iPad on your TouchBistro system to backup and restore restaurant data.

1. Tap Admin | Admin Settings

2. Tap POS Connectivity | Manage Restaurant Data.

3. Tap the button to the right of Current Restaurant Data and select Create Backup.

Restore your Restaurant Data from a Backup

Warning: Restoring Restaurant Data from a backup can overwrite data from the current day. Only restore from a backup when you are certain that it is necessary.

You can use any iPad on your TouchBistro system to backup and restore restaurant data.

1. Tap Admin | Admin Settings

2. Tap POS Connectivity | Manage Restaurant Data.

3. Tap the button to the right of the backup you wish to restore from and select Restore Backup.

4. Tap Restore.

4. Enter your Admin code into the Enter Passcode window and press Continue.

Your TouchBistro system data has now reverted to the backup.

Deleting a Backup

1. Tap Admin | Admin Settings

2. Tap POS Connectivity > Manage Restaurant Data.

3. Tap the button to the right of the backup you wish to erase and select Delete Backup.

4. Tap Delete. Your backup is now erased and removed from the list.

Restoring Your Main Device from a Cloud Backup

When you open your restaurant for the day, TouchBistro automatically backs up your restaurant data to the cloud. If your main device iPad is ever stolen, lost, or inoperable, support can aid you in restoring your data using your most current cloud backup.

Before you contact support (support@touchbistro.com), you will need to do the following:

Have a Computer Ready

You can use either a Mac computer or a Windows computer to aid you in restoring your data.

If You Have a Windows Computer

1.  Ensure you have iTunes installed on your Windows computer. If not, visit the Apple site and download and install iTunes.

2.  Ensure you have your replacement iPad with TouchBistro installed ready to go.

If You Have a Mac Computer

You will need to identify for the support person which version of Mac OS you’re using. To do this:

1.  Click on the Apple icon on your Mac main menu bar and click About This Mac.

2.  Note your macOS and version number. Be prepared to give it to your TouchBistro support representative.

If You Have a Mac Computer and You’re Using a Version Earlier Than Catalina

Be prepared to know how to find and launch iTunes.

The easiest way is to click the Search tool and then search on iTunes. You can click on the found iTunes.app.
