TouchBistro Founder and CEO Selected as a Finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2018

TORONTO – August 3, 2018 — TouchBistro founder and CEO, Alex Barrotti, has been selected as a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Awards 2018 program in the B2B Products and Services category. As the world’s most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs, each year Ernst & Young recognizes entrepreneurs who drive growth, live outside the box, and disrupt with purpose. This year the firm has named 46 finalists across 9 categories in the Ontario program. Winners will be announced on October 25 during the Ontario awards gala at the Metro Toronto Convention Center.

“It is truly humbling to be recognized by such a prestigious program alongside a group of outstanding leaders. While we eagerly anticipate the selection of winners, simply being named a finalist is an honour,” says Barrotti. “This recognition would not be possible without the incredible support of my entire TouchBistro team. Building a market-leading company together with this team is one of my proudest accomplishments. Together, we are achieving exceptional growth that can only be attained with superior product quality and outstanding customer and partner relationships.”

Founded and initially designed by Barrotti in 2010, TouchBistro is an award-winning iPad point-of-sale (POS) system built from the ground up to work as the heart of a restaurant’s operations. It streamlines and simplifies all aspects of running a restaurant – from order taking, payment processing, and menu management, to accounting, reporting, inventory management, staff scheduling, and customer loyalty. To date, more than 15,000 restaurants in over 100 countries have used the POS.

Under Barrotti’s leadership, TouchBistro revenue has grown by 400 percent over the last three years, and recurring monthly revenue by 58 percent in the past year. TouchBistro POS solutions process more than US$7 billion annually.

Barrotti is a successful serial entrepreneur and visionary in the development of disruptive technology that makes a difference in the way businesses operate. In 1997, he founded INEX Corporation, a company at the forefront of the e-commerce explosion. The INEX app developed under Barrotti’s leadership helped retailers and service providers create online storefronts with pre-designed templates – at a time when no one thought people would buy on the internet. Despite the initial skepticism, Barrotti sold INEX two years later for $45 million. With this same entrepreneurial and technical acumen, and intuitive insights on the next disruptive trend, Barrotti created TouchBistro.
