Chapter 1. V200 Versus the V240

TouchBistro supports two integrated payment devices:

1. V200c (hardwired countertop PINpad)

2. V240m (wireless PINpad)

This guide covers setting up and using the V240m.

Chapter 2. Connecting your V240m

Section 1. Reserve an IP in Your AmpliFi Router

When you connect your V240m to your AmpliFi router via Wi-Fi, it gets assigned an IP address. There’s no guarantee this IP address will be the same from day to day. To prevent your AmpliFi router from assigning your V240m a new IP address, you need to tell your AmpliFi router to assign the same IP address to a particular device each time it connects. This is called Assigning a Static IP.

To do this, you first need to find your V240m’s Wi-Fi MAC address.

Look on the bottom of your device. Copy down the WIFI MAC address on a piece of paper.

1. On your iPad, tap the AmpliFi app.

2. Tap on the picture of the AmpliFi Router on the start-up screen.

3. Scroll down to the Advanced section and tap DHCP Server.

4. Tap Static Leases.

5. Tap the Add + icon in the top right-hand corner to add a new reservation.

6. In the Name field, enter a name for this device (V240mounter).

7. In the MAC Address field, enter the Wi-Fi MAC address you copied down from your V240m device. You will need to manually enter the : after every two alphanumeric couplets.

8. Tap IP Address and select an available IP address. For example, 10.0.1.221.

9. Tap the Checkmark in the top right-hand corner and tap Proceed when the Attention dialog box appears.

10. It may take your AmpliFi app a few minutes to reserve this IP. You may also lose your connection. Verify you iPad reconnects to your AmpliFi router’s TouchBistro network.

11. Your device now has a reserved IP in your AmpliFi router.

Chapter 3. Plugging in Your V240m

1. Plug the provided power cord into the power jack. TouchBistro does not make use of the Android port.

2. Allow the V240m sufficient time to power up and charge the battery.
